Above: I was amazed when I saw this photograph, “Hotel Fisher Lake Sutherland” while
searching online. The two men in the picture were “unknown” in the caption. When I zoomed
in on the face of the “pointing man” however, I instantly recognized that it was Herman Fisher,
my great-great grandfather, based on other photographs of him. The library has subsequently

Left: “Geo. Fisher + Wife”. This man lived in (and is buried in)
Port Angles, WA. The photograph was taken in Victoria, BC. His
face shows a remarkable family resemblance to my great
grandfather E.E.Fisher. I have made several attempts to connect
Geo. to the Fisher family but, I’m still not sure how he relates
