               Artifacts:
               One of the USS Indiana’s two anchors is reportedly at:

                       Columbia River Maritime Museum
                       1792 Marine Drive
                       Astoria, Oregon

               [Note: In April 2015 we visited the Columbia
               Maritime Museum. I asked at the information
               desk about the anchor and they said it was NOT
               from the USS Indiana. From the tone of the
               answer, I’m guessing that they get asked this all
               the time. Just goes to show how information on the
               internet can be wrong. **Update (June 2020) **
               David Backman Jr. told me of the actual
               whereabouts of some USS Indiana ship parts. The
               bow, mast and a gun are now at the University of
               Indiana football stadium – see photograph right!]
