• E.E. Fisher and Herman Fisher (and many other townsfolk) signed a
“public subscription list” offering to pay in days of labor in order to get
street grading done.
• New Year’s Evening 1893. The Minerva Literary Society gave a reception
and entertainment composed of “elite” of the city, and that we may know
who was who, we quote from the Tribune-Times of January 4, 1894: …
[one of the many attendees was Frank P. Fisher].
The list of bachelors outnumbers the eligible ladies about 2 to 1. p. 262
• A relic of much interest found amount the effects of Mr. Herman Fisher,
is a small faded old record book containing official proceedings in the
Court of Justice of the Peace Marcellus Huntoon … [apparently this is
regarding some sort of trial regarding something that happened at ‘Pisth’
(now known as Pysht)] Dec 9, 1863. p. 39. Some quaint entries appear
in the recording of court costs in the Justice’s docket. Among them such
as: “For ishuing search warrant $1.00; Swairing 2 witnesses 20 cts. each
40; Taking recognizance $1.00; p. 44 .
• The chapter “Municipal
Organization” by H. M. Fisher p. 93
(shown right) contains a picture of a
“Law Office. When I turned a page
in the book and saw this picture
p. 97, I instantly recognized it …
I have that same picture in my
genealogy stack! It must have at
one time belonged to Athelene
Poulsen (Fisher). The picture in the
book appears to be ripped on the left
side – same as mine is. But even
more interesting is that the Law
