More searching and I again hit on the artist’s name on some web pages put up
by the State of Washington. There I found reference to a book by Alfred T.
Renfro titled “The Twelfth Session” or more specifically “The Twelfth Session of
the Washington State Legislature and State Officials”. The date of publication
is 1911. Apparently, there were only 150 copies of the book printed but as luck
would have it – the state had made available a complete digital copy that could
be read with an internet browser! The cover of the book is shown below left.
The photocopy of Pe-Te’s caricature
clearly shows that it is page 92 and
when I located that page in the digital
document … it matched!

Possible Follow Ups:
• Still looking to find any information about the speech Pe-Te gave as
referenced on his page – “the greatest speech in the 11 session” and what
th
it might have been about.
• Still looking to find any information as to the nature of Senate Bill No.
80, referenced on several of the caricatures in the book.
• Intrigued by the statement “Who was it that roasted a whole ox, stuffed
with chickens, and the chickens stuffed with oysters? Pe-Te Fisher.”
