               a soda fountain with “ice-cream” chairs on the right. In the far back see evidence
               of early advertising with the image of a mother administering to her

               (presumably) sick child. Note also the rich wood cabinetry, the palm plants, the
               light fixtures and the linoleum. Pe-Te is smoking a cigar – no doubt a “Roi-
               Tan”, boxes of which can be seen(with a magnifying glass) for sale in the front
               glass case. The young man in the photograph is likely George Taylor, a
               pharmacist that Pe-Te first hired in 1914.


               These two photographs are amongst my favorite “oldies”. Stephen
