               Alantha Joan Fisher Matson Letter

                                                                                              20 Feb 1982

               Dear Bud and Marie –

First, I want to thank you for the lovely Christmas greeting. I didn’t send

you a holiday greeting because I was unsure of your address and I sent mailed

what I did send early in December – because we left Provo Dec 14th. We spent

the holidays in Virginia with Elmer’s family. You probably remember that Elmer

is my eldest son. He lives in Stafford Virginia – a few miles south of Quantico

where he is stationed. We traveled by Amtrak and enjoyed the whole trip very

               much.

We had a 5 hour layover in Chicago – where we taxied to the City-County

Building. This little side trip was most successful – for I got Grandma Corgan’s

death certificate, a copy is enclosed. Also enclosed is a copy of a Warranty

Deed. From Clallam County Auditors Office, which states that George A Corgan

               was a widower – dated May 14, 1892.

I feel sure that the death certificate is for our great grandmother –

however we could be more certain if it listed the name of her husband.

Note that there is a discrepancy in address, ie., in the Claim for Mexican

War Pension – dated May 26, 1888 – their address is given as No. 22 38th
