lived on the family homestead his
entire life.
He enjoyed hiking and making home
movies, which included "The Miracle
of Sekiu," about hummingbirds. In
addition to farming and writing short
stories about the wilderness, the
farm and families of Pysht, Mr.
Fernandes was a trapper and
taxidermist.
He was also a member of the Senior
Center at Clallam Bay-Sekiu.
Mr. Fernandes is survived by brothers
Albert of Clallam Bay and Paul of Port
Angeles, as well as numerous nieces
and nephews.
Services: Friday, Aug. 5, 2 p.m.,
graveside in Mount Angeles
Memorial Park, U.S. Highway 101 and
Monroe Road, Port Angeles. The Rev.
Dan Ketchum of Clallam Bay
Presbyterian Church will officiate.
