“June Stanley Owns This Book Thank You Very Much”,

is hand-written at the top of the Official Program for the
“U.S. Frigate Constitution” -visiting Port Angeles
Washington over Memorial Day weekend in 1933.
Presumably she used the pamphlet as a bookmark for
some very important book …

There are many names mentioned in the program. I note
that one of them, Frank Fisher, part of the “Honorary
Committee”, is of course from the Fisher family. Frank
Fisher was, I believe once mayor of Port Angeles. Frank
Fisher Jr. was married to Gay Fisher. I will always

remember her as
one of the
kindest of my
grandparent’s

neighbors. She
once gave me a
sack full of
small toys all of
which she had
accumulated
over time from

cereal boxes!
