mother’s name is “Jane” not “June” and there is another major error! I was
informed that I could legally change my own birth certificate so long as I
provided at least three other (different) proofs as to my identity. However, I
could only do this through Washington State’s main Vital Records office near
Olympia. And so, I collected more proofs as to who I was and Laura and I made
a seven-hour, up-and-back “road trip” - just to get my birth certificate corrected!
I had to do it … it was me … the last person on the lineage chart. It had to be
right!
I spent about two months collecting documentation for the other generations
and in early February of 2020 I thought I finally had everything. I remember
being on the 5th floor of Vancouver’s beautiful downtown library with a
fantastic view of the Columbia River. I was carefully going through all of the
documents and double-checking everything. It was ready. I mailed out the
substantial packet of documents to my Washington State Mayflower chapter
for final verification.
And then the pandemic hit …
For anyone curious as to the documents I submitted, here is a summary:
Generation 8 (already proven). FANNY ELIZABETH BROWNELL, born at Columbus, OH on 20 Apr 1820, died at
Tremonton, UT on 20 Aug 1882, married at Marshall Co., IN on 22 May 1843 to James Harmison, born at Clay,
Montgomery Co., OH on 20 Apr 1820, died at Trenton, UT on 20 Jun 1886.
Their daughter was …
Generation 9. NANCY ANGELINE HARMISON, born at Farmington, UT on 12 Dec 1858, died at Port Angeles, WA
on 29 May 1930, married at Utah Territory in 1876 to George Edward Clark, born at Barwell, Cambridge, England
on 27 Dec 1849, died at Spokane, WA on 5 Dec 1919.

1937. Married at Teton City, ID on 4 Jan 1894 to Albert Webster Stanley, born at New London, WI on 4 Apr 1864,
died at Port Angeles, WA on 11 Dec 1937.
