Antique and Collectibles Show Laura and I were able to attend before the
pandemic hit, I found an illustrated copy of the book: “The Courtship of Miles

Standish”. This is a romanticized love story poem about John Alden and
Priscilla Mullins by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (also a Mayflower
descendant). I already had a different version of this book – a very old, small
leather-bound edition. I decided to gift this old book to my cousin Michael
Stanley as I am indebted to him for putting me on the Mayflower trail in the
first place.

With all this “Mayflower” stuff
going on in my brain for months,
I must have also thought it would

be good fun to share Mayflower
“swag” this year! So … everyone is
getting a sheet of Mayflower 400th
Anniversary USPS Forever
Stamps.

Everyone is getting a silly “Sailing
Mayflower” pen. Some of my closest family
members and special persons are getting
hand-painted porcelain Mayflower

ornaments just in time for Christmas.

Laura and I got small pewter

figurines of John Alden, Priscilla
Mullens and their Mayflower to
add to our Thanksgiving table
and also a blue, pressed-glass
Mayflower window ornament.
