Services for Clarence R. Gorton, 64, #23397344
were conducted Friday at the Fuiten-
Friesen Mortuary, Forest Grove.

Pastor George MacLean, pastor of
the Forest Grove Seventh-day
Adventist church, officiated with Mrs.
Melvin Nelson as organist.
Concluding interment rites were at
the Forest View cemetery, Forest
Grove.

Mr. Gorton died unexpectedly Jan. 6
at Milwaukie. He was born at Corning
N.Y., Aug. 29, 1899 and came with his
family to the Portland area in 1904.
They homesteaded near Rose Lodge
and with the exception of a few years
in California, Mr. Gorton had spent
most of his life in the greater
Portland area.

Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Wanda
Holt of Ventura Calif.; a brother Fred
M. Gorton of Gaston and a sister,
Mrs. Charles Willis of Crescent City,
Calif.
