The former Christine Schmidt, she
was horn May 8, 1907, in Cleveland,
Ohio, a daughter of the late Michael
and Charlotte Seibert Schmidt.

The family moved to New Holstein
when she was a young girl. On July
10, 1926, she married Melvin
Wendling at New Holstein. The
couple made their home in Kiel. He
died January 26, 1961.

Mrs. Wendling was a member of St.
Peter United Church of Christ in Kiel,
charter member of the Women's
Guild, and a member of the Frauen
Verein. She also belonged to the G.
U. G. Germania Society.

privacy) She was also survived by
three sisters, Mrs. Milton Jung of
Elkhart Lake, and Mrs. Henry Fromm
and Mrs. Richard Mangan, both of
Kiel, and a brother, Michael Schmidt
of Portland, Oregon.

Funeral services were held Monday
at St. Peter UCC, Kiel, the Reverend
