Family Stories

The much much more I ended up finding was two new friends! “Kin”! One day
while searching a genealogy forum site, a post caught my attention. It had a

family name I recognized and it had an e-mail address. I fired off a letter
immediately and before I knew it, I had discovered two new “living” relatives!
“Kin”! Dan Harris and Elizabeth Wamsley. Dan’s wife Raynette and
Elizabeth’s husband Thomas (and me of course, and a lot of other Poulsens for
that matter), are all descendants of Joshua Thomas Lunsford. (Note: The name
was originally spelled Lunceford but it was changed to Lunsford when he

               moved to Round Hill.)

Within days of that first letter, Elizabeth (and Dan) had sent me tons of
information and several photographs … one of which turned out to be the one I

had been searching for and that was at one time in Leesburg’s Thomas Balch
Library! I can’t describe the feeling I got when I opened that photograph for the
first time. I was so excited to see it!

You may have noticed that the photograph is torn into four pieces. Dan related
this story to me: He and Elizabeth got together and made a sort of genealogy
trek to Round Hill. They visited cemeteries in the area and some homes. One of

the homes they visited they refer to as the “stonehouse”. Elizabeth’s husband
Thomas and his mother Christina were both born in the stonehouse.

As Dan further describes their visit and the stonehouse … The present owners
were gracious enough to give us a tour of the house. In what is now the rear of the
