home is a guest house that they had remodeled. Joshua (Lunsford) lived with the
Poulsens (Lars and Virginia) at this home in his later years and what is now
the guest cottage was his cobbler’s shop. When the present owner bought the
property it was overgrown and as he cleared the yard, they found an outhouse
that was in pretty good shape. He moved it closer to the house and attached
wrought iron fencing to it and now uses it as a gate house. During his
remodeling of the cobbler’s shop he found a photograph of a family that had been
torn into four pieces. He had a computer friend restore it (below).
My best guess (only a guess) at the individuals in this photograph based on names and ages
found in the 1910 Census, and assuming the photograph is circa 1906 is:
Front row: Hubert ~10, Elizabeth (on Niels’ lap), Niels, Mabel ~15, Mary Alice (Lunsford), Niels Jr. ~2 (on Mary
Alice’s lap), Susie ~13, Ross. Back row: Lars (Niels’ brother), Lera ~17, Virginia Ella (Lunsford, Mary Alice’s sister).
Mary Alice could be pregnant at this time, Samuel was born in 1906.
