                                                               The  body  will  lie  in  state  at  the
                                                               Meiselwitz Funeral home from 2 p.m.
                     [Note:  Some  say  that  his  name  was
                                                               Friday  until  11  a.m.  Saturday  and
                     “Mike”  never  “Michael”  as  the
                                                               may  be  viewed  at  the  church  from
                     obituary   (and   grave   marker)
                     indicate.]                                11:15 a.m. Saturday until the time of
                                                               the services.

                     Michael  Schmidt,  Sr,  70,  of  916
                                                               The  Sheboygan  Press  –  Thursday,
                     Fremont  street,  Kiel,  died  shortly
                                                               May 26, 1949 – P. 17.
                     after noon Wednesday at St. Nicholas
                     hospital following a short illness.

                     Hungary, he was married to Charlotte
                     Seibert  on  Jan.  4,  1904.  The  couple   it.html
                     came  to  the  United  States  in  1905
                     and  lived  in  New  Holstein  until  12
                     years ago when they moved to Kiel.

                     Mr.  Schmidt  was  a  member  of  St.
                     Peter’s  Evangelical  and  Reformed
                     church  at  Kiel.  Survivors  are  four
                     daughters,  Mrs.  Melvin  (Christine)
                     Wendling,  Mrs.  Henry  (Catherine)
                     Fromm, Mrs. Milton (Helen) Jung and
                     Mrs.  Richard  (Elizabeth)  Mangen,
                     Kiel;  a  son,  Michael,  Portland,  Ore.,
                     13   grandchildren;   two   great
                     grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Katie
                     Geis,  Milwaukee,  and  Mrs.  Elizabeth
                     Stahl  in  Germany,  and  a  brother,
                     Peter, New Holstein.

                     Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.
                     Saturday  at  St.  Peter’s  Evangelical
                     and Reformed church.  The Rev. E. R.
                     Worthman, pastor, will officiate, and
                     burial  will  be  made  in  the  Kiel
                     cemetery.
